"A RETURN FROM THE DEAD."
BULGAR PEASANT'S WEIRD EXPERIENCE. As the coffin of a peasant named Elin Penev was being carried out of the church for burial, still open, in accordance with local custom, in a village near Tatar Pazardzhik, in Bulgaria, the other day, his head was seen to move. A momentary panic ensued among those present, but order was rapidly restored, and there was general rejoicing when he showed further signs of life. The man who was thought to have died after an operation, is now well, and looking forward to a long life, as according to local tradition, anyone who "returns from the dead" is destined to live long beyond the usual span.
