PROGRAMME FOR WEEK.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Tanranga, this day. The jubilee in connection with the fiftieth anniversary of Tauranga's proclamation as a Borough commenced to-day in glorious weather with a shopping day. The Mayor, Mr. A. C. Robbms, published a letter of congratulation to the residents. To-night invesitures by King Carnival takes place on the Strand, when several honours will be conferred on leading citizens. < To-morrow afternoon wreaths will be laid-on the old native and pakeha graves at Mission Cemetery, and a church service and a concert will be held in the Town Hall in the ingOn Monday, Maori Day, natives of the surrounding districts and Rotorua are taking part in old-time hakas and poi dances. A special attraction will be an exhibition of flax weaving by an old native on a frame three hundred years old. On Tuesday, Old Identities' Day, the old residents will be entertained by the Mayor and Mayoress and councillors aid their wives.

On Wednesday there will be sports for school children; on Thursday a picnic at Mount Maunganui and mystery night; on Friday night a Jubilee Ball will be held in the Town Hall, and on Saturday the crowning of the successful Queen candidate. The town is gaily decorated and the prospect is that the Jubilee will be a wonderful success.
