CIVIC LEAGUE
SOCIAL AFTERNOON.
A Civic League social afternoon was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday last.
It began with a competition, which was won by Mrs. Tappin. Dr. Isaac gave a very interesting address on medical research. He traversed its history from Diogenes and his times to the present, of the modern highly trained specialist, and concluded with an appeal for financial -assistance for the Cancer Research Fund.
Afternoon tea was followed by a demonstration of slipper making from waste materials and of Mocassins from dressed skins.
A very enjoyable and instructive afternoon was sp.ent.
