EMPRESS THEATRE
ENGLAND'S CHARLIE CHAPLIN. Leslie Henson, star of the B.D.F. attraction, "A Warm Corner," to be screened at the Empress Theatre tonight and on Monday, is England's premiere comedian. It is his first appearance in the talkies and the genius for comedy he displays in it has caused him to be hailed as the Charlie Chaplin of the British screen. His facial contortions in many of the scenes will leave your audience wondering whether he has a face of India rubber. In his immensely amusing incident at the telephone, Leslie Henson has one of the longest close-ups ever made. Henson spends four minutes at the 'phone, and manages to keep the audience in continuous laughter —a real feat of acting. Supporting him in this all British scream is Connie Ediss and Heather Thatcher.
