SUMMER TIME AGAIN

STARTS IN TWO WEEKS.^ The next period of official "summer" in New Zealand begins on Sunday morning, October 11, and ton the Saturday night clocks throughout New Zealand will be advanced by one half hour. The period extends until March 20 of next year. New Zealand's first trial of summer time was made in 1927-28, when daylight was extended for a full hour. The arrangement' met with such opposition in the country, however, that by the Summer Time Act of 1929 the time was reduced to one half-hour. According to the Act, the period of summer time is fixed as between the second Sunday in October and the third Sunday in the following March.
