It has been decided to revive the activities of the local branch of the above society, and a meeting to this end was held last evening, Mr. G. Hitchcock being in the chair. The meeting opened with a general report by the president, who at the same time urged the revival of the Society's activities here. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot; president, Mr. H. C. Evans; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. J. Haines, W. S. Cato; committee, Messrs. A. Fraser, B. Johnson, G. Hitchcock, J. O'Halloran, E. Churcher; hon. secretary, Mr. C. L. Cato; hon. auditor, Mr. M. W. A. Home. It was decided that a branch of the Society be formed at Pio Pio.

Included in the various matters discussed was the liberation of trout fry and ova in local streams, and it is intended to carry this out systematically in the coming season. It was reported that there had been a considerable amount of poaching last year, and it was hoped this year to be able to check this, the Society intending to apply for more rangers' licenses.
