CITY COUNCIL FINED.
LATE PAYMENT OF LEVY. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.45 a.m.) Sydney, this day. The City Council was fined £323 16s 4d by the Commissioner of Taxation for the late payment of tax under the Family Endowment Act. The deputy-town clerk states that none of the previous accounts, were paid on or before the due date and no demand had previously been made by the Commissioner of Taxation for payment of the fine.
