THEORY OF EVOLUTION.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Upon a report reaching US that one of the gentlemen acting as religious instructors in the public school had recently been suggesting the evolutionary theory to the children we asked the gentleman in question if the report was correct. He replied in the affirmative, adding that he believed evolution to be the most reasonable explanation of the process of creation, and the teaching of the theory to be a necessary part of the religious instruction of the children of to-day. As a number of parents are seriously concerned regarding this matter they are anxious that the gentleman should make known his views as soon as possible through the medium of your paper.— I am, etc.,
