THE MAIROA DISTRICT.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I notice a letter in your issue of March 3 by “Hard Experience” criticising an article which appeared in your issue of February 21 on farming in Mairoa. Judging by his criticism of the article he has no love for farmlands or farmers in the Mairoa. If Mr. Hard Experience is a settler of the Mairoa district he should speak for his own little holding, not for his neighbours, who have wisely followed the Department of Agriculture’s advice in top-dressing and have overcome any little trouble they may have had in the past with stock, and are now making good progress. I may state that I have had sheep on my farm for the last three years, which are in the best of health and *. condition. If Mr. Hard Experience will give me his name I would only be too pleased to arrange to go over his selection with him and advise him. to the best of my ability how to overcome his little troubles, and then he would be loud in his praises of the Mairoa district. —I am, etc., T. DENT, Mairoa.
