TYRE MYSTERIES.
PROBLEM OF PUNCTURES.
Why is it that the tyre on the nearside wheel of a car is more susceptible to puncture than the others? A study of the question reveals the fact that the reasons is that because it not only runs in the gutters where sharp stones, nails and other rubber destroying agents are to be found, but frequently also becomes penetrated by the sarp ends of nails lifted up from the road by the near-side front tyre and run over before they are able to resume their flat position.
