FIRST DEFEAT OF RAILWAY No. 1.
Hamill Shield matches were continued on Saturday last. Railway No. 2 played Pio Pio at PiotPio and Railway No. 1 played Otorohanga at Otorohanga. I the former No. 2 gained a 2-point win over Pio Pio, winning by 176 runs to 88. G. Martin for No. 2 with 98 was the chief scorer.
The Otorohanga v. Railway No. 1 game resulted in a win for the former's team by 163 for 5 wickets, declared, Railway all out for 81. Ross for the winners, with 67, was top man.
