GOLD-MINING INDUSTRY
SUBSIDISING PROSPECTING PARTIES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. With the object of helping the gold mining industry and assisting in the relief of unemployed, the Mines Department is placing a proposition before the Unemployment Board, by which the Board subsidises money for prospecting on a £1 for £1 basis. It is felt that parties of men, led by an experienced prospector, could in this way be engaged in profitable work.
