Throwing stink bombs and catcalling, Nazi spectators broke up a production of the German version of the talkie picture, "All Quiet on the Western Front." Free fights occurred all over the theatre, the attendants trying to pacify the audience, but were shouted down with cries of "Wake up, Germany," "Down with the Jews," etc. Soldiers shouted that the film was an insult to German soldiers. The police cleared the theatre with their truncheons.
