Mr. R. W. Bennett, solicitor, of Hamilton, was in Te Kuiti to-day.
The Auckland Education Board has authorised the appointment of Miss E. Parton as teacher at the Mangapeehi school.
A Press Association message from Wellington states that Mr. S. E. Fav. repairing and equipment assistant of the New Zealand Railways Department, has resigned in order to accept a position in England.
The Hon. E. A. Ransom, ActingPrime Minister, was reported yesterday to have shown amotable improvement in health. It is expected that he will resume his official duties early next week.
A Press Association message received to-day announces the death in the Auckland Hospital this morning of Benjamin Deeley, formerly one of New Zealand’s most successful jockeys.
