MANGAPEEHI. (Own Correspondent.) The Mangapeehi Football Club held their anual ball on Saturday evening last!. A willing band of enthusiasts had, on the previous night, made the hall wear gay appearance by means of coloured streamers. The music was supplied by Miles’ orchestra, and was all that could be desired. This orchestra deserves special praise for the manner in which it has kept faith with Mangapeehi folk, and can always be depended upon bo provide dance music of high order. This function marked the close of the 1929 football season in Mangapeehi, which has been an extremely poor one from the point of view of local supporters owing to the scarcity of home matches. Non-dancers were entertained at a euchre tournament, the winners proving to be Mrs Reinhardt and Mr Malone, while consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs Irvine and Mr Maloney. Dancers all voted the evening a huge success, while the spirit moving most of those present to enter into the evening’s pleasure in no uncertain manner caused the entertainment to prove to be one that will long be remembered by of the Tile Trot and other dances. Amongst those present were:—Mesdames Maloney, navy bengaline embroidered in red; Pettit, black ring velvet ; Mischewski, fuchsia crepe de chine and silver lace; Eldmonds, red silk; A. E.
