BALLAST TRUCKS OFF LINE.
BETWEEN TE KAWA AND KIO KIO. DELAY TO TRAINS. Whilst engaged in spreading ballast between Kio Kio and Te Kawa yesterday morning, a number of hoppers on* the ballast train working between Otorohanga and Te Kawa went off the line. As a result the daylight Limited was delayed for about two hours, while the Taumarunui-Frankton train was delayed for a similar period. Practically no damage was done to the permanent way, and the trucks, several of which suffered some damage, were cleared away. The Railway Department stopped the Limited at Te Kuiti to enable the passengers to obtain lunch, the train leaving at 1.40 p.m.
