SAD DROWNING FATALITY.
YOUNG WOMAN LOSES LIFE. MORNING BATHE IN BREAKERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Tauranga, this day. A sad drowning fatality occurred this morning at Mount Maunganui. Edith Aubertin, of Rotorua, aged 22, who was spending a holiday with her mother, went for an early morning bathe in the breakers. There was a big surf running, and deceased, who was unable to swim, appeared to be dragged under by a strong current close to the shore. Those on the beach heard her cries for help, and another bather and several others rushed in, finding the body ten minutes later floating in the same spot. Artificial respiration for two hours was unavailing.
