WHEN PLUGS "AGE."
I Although sparking plugs these days seem to last forever, it is just as well to remember that as with other things, age creeps on imperceptibly, and, although they continue to function, the plugs may be long past their prime. Many a man carrying on satisfied in his third or fourth season with the same* plugs would have an agreeable surprise if he fitted a new set. They often impart a remarkable degree of "pep" to the engine. That the insulation becomes more or less leaky , and so lessens the temperature of the spark, is generally accepted as the prime cause.
