A £SOOO CAR.
A £SOOO car, which is one of a series of 30 being built by the Bugatti Company, recently won an award for elegance in Paris. It is a straighteight with a 14-litre engine. The power is so great that only two gears are fitted, and for starting on the level top is costomarily used. The crankshaft has nine water-cooled bearings, and there are three overhead vales in each cylinder. Amercia has produced a similar huge luxury car, the 265 h.p. Duesenberg eight. A four-seater sports tourer has done 116 miles per hour on the track, and in the second gear 89 m.p.h. can be attained. The chassis of this large-powered car alone cost £2280.
