A move in the direction of a local scheme of daylight saving, has been made by the Wanganui Labour Representation Committee, which comprises affiliations of a number of industrial unions in the city, including the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. The followingresolution was passed at the monthly meeting of the committee on Saturday evening: “That in view of the decision of Parliament not to' reintroduce daylight saving, this committee is of the opinion that some scheme should be inaugurated to bring it into effect for the city of Wanganui, and to that end will support any steps which might be taken by other interested bodies to„ bring into operation such a scheme.”
