(Own Correspondent.) On Saturday, 24th. nit Newton Kins Ltd., held their supplemental sale here, and good prices were realised. The ladies of A-wakuioi and surrounding districts provided their usual excellent luncheon and afternoon tea, and were amply rewarded for their efforts. As a result the Medical Association fund's will benefit considerablyOn Thursday evening Mr and Mrs Y G Northern entertained their friend's to a dance in the Mokau Hall on their return from their honeymoonMrs Northern received her guests in bei<>-e lace over, georgette, with a beautiful Spanish shawl. A most enjoyable evening was spent. On Thursday n/fternoon Mrs A. Waite gaive an "Odds and Ends" afternoon for Miss T. Sage, who is shortly to be married. Mrs Waite received her guests wearing cinder rose crepe de chine. Each guest wore something representing a book, ren'd the guessing of the name of the book caused much amusement. Matron Kelly of the Patea Hospital has been spending her pacatiou with her brothers, Messrs W. and H. Kelly. Miss Flight has been spending ai few days with Mrs W. P. Kelly. Mr Alfred Black has returned from New Plymouth. Mrs Keith Black has returned from a visit to Waitara. Mr L. R. Jones has. returned from New Plymouth, Mr unci Mi's McLeod, of Auckland, and their son are staying with Mr Alfred Black. Mr and Mrs Cr. IT. Dixon have motored to Stratford for a few weeks. Mrs P. Herbert is spending a few days in New Plymouth. Mr Harry Cummings is at present in Auckland. Little Don Black, who sustained a greenstick fracture of the right 1 arm while playing, is recovering nicely. Mr and H. L. Northern and Miss Frainces Northern left here on Tuesday en route for Sydney where they are spending a week before continuing their trip home to England. They expect to be away about six months.
