CLEANING LEATHER.
When it is desired to give the leather a clean up do not on any account use petrol of kerosene to remove grease stains. This will cause the natural oils of the leather to evaporate, and the leather will "become dry and crack. A good, solution to use in this capacity is water to which has been added a little ammonia. With this solution grease and travel stains disapper quickly, and
rub over with a soft cloth will bring back the original polish of the leather without any harmful effects. Another good mixture for ti’eating leather that has become hard and dry is turpentine and linseed oil, mixed in the proportion of two parts of oil to one of turpentine.
