Fifteen borer boles to the square inch were found in a piece of timber imported by a local firm from Vancouver this' month (says the Wanganui Chronicle). The holes appear to have been made by the marine borer and it is believed that the wood was attacked while lying in a pond on the Pacific Coast or when being rafted from the milling ground.
