Sir—How isithis? A local resident wanted some Australian hardwood. Pricing locally he was not satisfied, so went to Auckland. Result: a saving of £lO un the pint chase of the small amount of 273 superficial feet of timber. Now, 1 am not a Thursday lialt-lialf-holiday person, but 1 say by all means boost the (town. I think my readers will agree that business people who are afflicted with the desire to get rich quick are nott in any sense calculated to make any town popular. —I am, etc., INTERESTED.
