GERMANY'S NEW NAVY.
LAUNCHING FIRST SHIP. SINCE HER DEFEAT. (Press Association.) London, January 8. The Daily Telegraph's Berlin correspondent says Germany's first warship built since her defeat has been launched. It-ds a small cruiser named Emden. Admiral Zenker, in a baptismal speech, said the name Emden was of high significance because the first Emden was commanded by a man of cool judgment, bold in execution, of inexhaustible resourcefulness, unflagging in action, unflinching even on a lost outpost, whose crew followed him to the end, and who was an exponent of his blameless chivalry even to his enemies. He would live in naval history as one of the greatest cruisei commanders who had ever sailed the seas. The widow of Von Mueller broke a bottle of champagne over Ihe cruiser's bows.,
