The protest made by the Presby- I terians against ministers taking part i in dances was adversely commented | upon by an Anglican who gave some | interesting details of a certain dis- , trict clergyman’s activities in this direction (states an exchange). In' the parish of Waipu, the vicar of oneof the churches there has for several years conduetetd a dancing class once a week in the Sunday school room. He has been practically teacher and master of ceremonies, and the weekly “hop” has been popular alike with young people and their parents. Nor has any objection been taken to the proceedings by the bishop. The dances have been found to be healthy and amusing, and they brought young people together, .one indirect result being that many cif them also attended church services^
