Mrs Ruth Gray and Mrs F. R. Jowitt, representing the N.Z. Free Lance, Wellington, are staying at the Commercial Hotel. The engagement is announced of Miss Ilene Gooder, daughter of Mr It. Gooder, Parawai, Thames, to Mr Henry Innis, Kerepeehi, Haurnki Plains. Mr M. C. Stranger, of Hamilton, has taken over the management of the local branch of the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., in succession to Mr J. F. Vercoe. Dr Mclllwraith, of the Education Department, is in Te Kuiti at present. Mr and Mrs Algie, of Auckland, are staying at the Grand Hotell. ■ , • Mr J. D. Vernon has been., Appointed a member of the Borough Library Committee. Miss K. Pavitt. of Balclutlia, who has been the guest of the Misses Pavitt, left by last night’s express for Wellington.
