THE PRINCE OF WALES.

VISIT TO CANADIAN RANCH. The Daily Mail of July 12 publishes the following particulars of a. coming visit to Canada, to be made by the Prince of Wales.

The Prince has long cherished the idea of spending a holiday on the ranch in Canada, which he has owned for four years, but has not visited since he purchased it just before the conclusion of his Canadian tour in 1919. It is expected that he will sail from England during the first week in September and will return late in the following month.

The visit will take the form of an absolutely informal holiday, during which the Prince will live in a comparatively primitive log hut, or, if the weather is suitable, in a tent.

He will travel as the Duke of Cornwall, in specially reserved accommodation in an ordinary liner bound for Quebec. On his arrival no official arrangements will be made for the reception, and the Governor-General, Lord Byng, who would normally be on a tour of the Dominion at this time, will be asked to make no change in his arrangements. It is understood that no official engagements of any kind will be accepted by the Prince during his visit. The Prince’s ranch—known as the E.P. ranch—comprises about 4000 acres of grass land, and lies near High River, Alberta, due south of Calgary, in. the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

During his Canadian tour in 1919 the Piince stayed for a few days at Bar U ranch, which adjoins his own, and the decision to make a purchase of land was made at that time. The ranch has been' visited by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, who were much impressed with the excellent stock being breclt there. The Prince, who will spend the weeks previous to this visit with the King and Queen at Balmoral, will, it is expected, be accompanied to Canada by no more than three members of his suite.
