The Institute of Journalists entertained the representative delegates of the Pan-Pacific Science Congress at a luncheon.
Professor Ellsworth Huntington addressed the Congress on the possibilities of prophesying rain for six months ahead, pointing out how the productivity of arid areas could be increased if the cultivation was carried out with some knowledge of when the rain was likely to come.
