Owing to the Rev. Mr Drake being detained in Auckland through illness the 8 a.m. service at St. Luke’s Church on Sunday ‘ next will not be held. The Bishop of Auckland has arranged to relieve Mr Drake in Te Kuiti, pending his complete recovery.

T. Pine left for Pukekohe on Thursday last, where he will in future reside. Mr Pine came to the district seventeen years ago, taking up land at Arapae. He has lived in Te Kuiti since 1915, serving for a period on .the Te Kuiti Borough Council. Mr Pine is probably best known locally for his intense interest in the discovery of supposed caves in~she Pio Pio district a few years ago, his writings on their formation, under the nom de plume of “Kaihikatea,” being; widely discussed. -
