(Dominion president of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association. He will arrive from the South by the 2 a.m. express on Friday, and leave for Mahoenui at 8 a.m. to unveil a memorial there. The Pio Pio memorial will be unveiled at 2 p.m., and all returned soldiers are requested to parade at the Town Hall under Captain Kennedy, D. 5.0., M.C., at 1.30 p.m. The General is then due to return to Te Kuiti in time for the unveiling of the bronze tablet erected by soldier members of the Te Kuiti Club. The General has notified the civic authorities that he is particularly anxious to meet as many returned soldiers as possible, and in this connection an informal reception has been arranged in Cowper’s rooms after the civic reception. It is thus hoped that the General wil be pleasantly occupied in renewing the unseverable friendships made on the battlefield, till the departure of the 11.30 express, on which he will return to the South. Returned soldiers are particularly requested to wear the association badge at the reception.
