PIO PIO SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL

UNVEILING ON FRIDAY. BY GENERAL SIR A. RUSSELL. On Friday afternoon Major-General Sir A. H. Russell, K.C.8., K.C.M.G. (Dominion president of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association) will unveil a war memorial at Pio Pio, in honour of the men who represented that district on active service. In the evening a meeting ,of returned men in the district will be held, when a branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association will be formed. Mr E. W. Inder, president of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association, and Mr Cox, the secretary, will be present. All returned soldiers are requested to parade at the Town Hall at Pio Pio under Captain Kennedy, D. 5.0., M.C., at 1.30 p.m. It will be noted that the unveiling ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. instead of 1.30 p.m.
