KICKED BY A HORSE.

BOY KILLED AT HONIKIWI. DIES UNDER OPERATION. A very sad fatality occurred at Honikiwi last Thursday morning, when the young son of Mr and Mrs Collins, a bright lad of about 11 years, was kicked by a horse, with fatal consequences. The poor little fellow, who was very fond of horses, was busy flicking flies off the hindquarters and legs of a horse, and he had just turned his back to the horse, when suddenly the horse kicked him in the small of the back. He was at once hurried off to Te Awamutu, but despite all efforts of the doctor, who at once operated,, the little fellow expired before the operation was completed. The body was brought back to Otorohanga, and was interred on Friday, the Rev. Cole-Baker conducting the burial service. The unfortunate lad was well-known in the Honikiwi district, and was well liked by all who knew hiin, and great sympathy is felt for his sorrowing parents in their distressingly sad loss.
