COMMITTEE OF AGRICULTURE.
THE LOCAL MOVEMENT.
DISCUSSED BY COUNCIL,
The matter of establishing local committees of agriculture on lin6S suggested by the New Zealand Council of Agriculture came before the .Waitomo County Council on Monday evening. The members of the Council were unanimous concerning the desirability of carrying out tha HUggestiong mentioned in the circular.
The chairman said it appaared to him to be a matter for A. and P. Associations anrl Farmers' Union bancheg rather than the local body, though thay were all agreed upon the matter. One of the difficulties would be in getting a workable committee. He would be glad to do what he could to further the matter. The chairman and Cr Berry were appointed a committee to promote the movement and approach the various bodies likely to be interested.
