MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 17th, 1915. Before Mr. E. Rawson. S.M. Breach of A ward. —On a charge of working employees on Saturday afternoons without paying overtime,Clapham and Co. were fined £4 and costs £2 5s Bd. The charges was preferred at the instance of the Inspector of Awards.—C. Thompson and W. Beaumont, n»r working without claiming overtime, were fined 10s and 13s costs.' Liquor Beaches. —C. Ogier, against whom a charge was heard on a previous court day, of selling whisky and adjourned to enable defendant to tiring further evidence, failed to produce his witness. He was convicted and fined £SO and costs or in default four months' imprisonment.
Percival McKenna Braithwaite, on a charge of keeping liquor for sale, was convicted and fined £SO and
costs or in default three months imprisonment. A Maori named Hohepa on a charge of siding and abetting in the commission of an offence by purchasing liquor was convicted and fined £5 and costs 255, or in default fourteen days,' imprisonment.
