Tc-night at the Empress a benefit in aid of Fireman Bundle will be given. The programme will be virtually an all-sl;;r combination headed by a Vitagraph featuro entitled "Love's Sunset." . Another good picture ig a comedy by tha famous Keystone company entitled "The Film Johnnie." For Thursday and Friday one of Paths Bros.' famous coloured dramas in three parts, entitled "The Curae of War," will be screened. This story bho tpa bow a war br<oke out for some trifling diplomatic reason between, neighbouring nations forces a young soldier to contrive a fiendish death for his sweetheart's brother, and the latter to connive at tha murder of his sister's lover. It is p lay with a fine and unusual plot and ita moral is deftly drawn and is so clearyl applicable (o modern conditions, that one fee's it to be a film whose teaching may prove of real value.
