INCREASED TAXATION
BIG DEFICIT FORECASTED.

Mr Lloyd George, Chancellor of the
Exchequer, in his Budget speech, estimated tha revenue at £200,655,000, sncl the expenditure at £20,985,000.
Another four millions was required to assist local authorities.
It waa proposed to Eaise nine millions by an additional tax on incomes over £IOOO, Eanging from IOJd to la 4d up to £3OOO, while the supertax limit ia lowered to £BOOO.
Tha readjustments will yield £5,250,000 and the supertax £2,500,000.
Death duties are increased fin es tates over £fiooo, yielding £600,000.
Capital invested abroad is taxed, yielding £250,000. The balance of'the deficit is to be taken from the sinking fund.
