SERIOUS SHOOTING ACCIDENT.
TE KUIII RESIDENT INJURED.
- An unfortunate accident Occurred yesterday afternoon at Te Kumi, whereby aTe Kuiti resident, named Ernest Cantell, was somewhat seriously injured. Mr Cantell and his father were on a shooting! expedition at Te Kumi and were getting through a wire fence on Mr Lever's property. The younger man WE3 m front- and the trigger of the gun carried by the father got caught in the wire with the result that tha weapon was discharged, the son receiving the charge in his hip. Medical assifitancs was at once called, and the injured man was taken to Dr Will's rssiSence where everything possible was done to alleviate his sufferings. ' Mr Cantell Was ta'ken to the Hamilton Hospital last night, and hopes are entertained that the wound will not prove to be of a serious nature.
