COUNTRY RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION.
MEETING AT TE KUITI. The meeting of Waitomo County ratepayers convened for the purpose of forming a Ratepayers' Aaaociation, was held in the Town Hall last night. Mr W. Lorigan, convener, briefly explainpd the object of the meeting, and Mr Jackson, Puketiti, was elected chairman, and Mr Hargreaves. Honikiwi, secretary pro tern. After considerable discussion it was decided that a Ratepayers' Association be formed with an executive at To Kuiti.. and that certain people be appointed to call meetings of ratepayers in the various ridings for the Durpose of appointing a representative on the executive. The following officers were appointed: President. Mr Jackson; secretary pro tem, Mr Hargreaves; conveners, Messrs Finnis, Haiigatiki; Hitchcock, Waitomo; Steel, Paemako; Riddle, Aria; Somerville, Te Kuiti; and Clark, Tangitu. The annual subscription was fixed at 5s and a considerable number of subscriptions were collected in the hall.
