NEW UNION SWAMPED.

Christcfcurch, Tuesday. The decision of the new watersiders' union to admit any person of good character, in accordance with the advice of the Labour Department and Crown Law officers makes it certain that the ex-strikers will control the body within the next few days. The union will probably contain about 600 men shortly, 400 being members of the old stevedores' union. Ex-strikers do not appear to have been aggressive in word or action, but it ia stated on good authority that a change of officers will be made this week. The present president and secretary were elected by the arbitrationists during the strike.
