A MILLIONAIRE'S BEQUESTS.
The late Mr J. Pierpont Morgan's estate is estimated to be worth £20,000,000, and is the largest fortune ever bequeathed in America. This amount probably includes the European estate, which a cable message published a few days ago stated had been valued at £3,000,000, in addition to art objects worth £2,500,000. By the terms of the will Mr J. Pierpont Morgan, the eldest son, will receive £6,000,000 outright, and all the art collections, with the provision that they shall be permanently available for the instruction and pleasure of the American peoble. Mrs Morgan is bequeathed a trust fund of £200,000 and an income of £20,000 a year. Miss Anne Tracy Morgan, youngest daughter, will receive £600,000 in trust, and two married daughters, Mrs Herbert Satterlee and Mrs William Hamilton, are bequeathed £60,000 in trust, while the husband of each lady is to receive £200,000 outright. The sum of £IOO,OOO is left in trust for the support of the ministry of St. George's Church, New York, of which institution Mr Morgan had been a member for many years. Gifts, ranging from £IO,OOO to £2OOO, are made to several employees, while each worker in the offices of J. P. Morgan and Company in New York and London is to receive a year's salary from the estate.
