TAUMATAWAENGA.
Own Correspondent. One hardly realises the rapid development of the King Country. Barely two and a half years ago the above —more familiar as Maraetaua —was offered for sale in Te Kuiti, and now is becoming a rapidly sattled district. The Congregational Church for the past seven months have held fortnightly services here, and we are to have our sixth dance and concert on the 19th inst. For some time a telephone bureau has been installed, and now a post office is to be opened in answer ta a request of the settlers. A school is also to be erected some little distance away, and there is a rumour that several of the settlers will milk for the factory this season. The (advent of the pakeha truly means progress.
