KING COUNTRY DAIRYING.
THE MAROKOPA FACTORY. IMPORTANT RESULTS. The Marokopa Co-operative Dairy Company made its debut into the history of the progress of the King Country by way of those few optimists who had belief in what the district was capable of. It was in this way: there were men who believed that the time had arrived when dairyng should be inaugurated, and took the the full responsibility of the concern, and after considerable negotiations it became an established fact. The season of 1911-12 was the inaugural and expectations were exceeded by the fact that approximately twenty tons of butter were manufactured. At this juncture the manufacture of twenty tons might seem very small, but when it is remembered that double amount of that butter was manufactured during last season, and with the prospect of double that next season, and every possibility of it being doubled every season for the next five years, it will be understood where the man ot optimism comes in and where the pessimist is left to lament his fate. However, last season waß indicative of how settlers begin to recognise the benefits of the industry by reason of the fact that several who were directly opposed to the concern were some of the biggest suppliers. Twenty-nine were the maximum suppliers ot the first season, whereas last season" the number totalled fortynine. The supply of the season 191112 was as follows :-v-October 25147.18 lbs butferfat, November 5082.66'1b-, December 6749.71b15, January 7938.94 Ibrs, February 6776.911b5, March 561.1418b5, April 313!.191b5. The figures for the season just past are: —October 2798.051b5, November 8654.021b5, December 13,598.841b5, January 12.9691b5:691b5, February 12.130.041b5, March 8871.791b5, April 5425.551b5, May 942.241b5.
