Newton King reports: — At Kapuni on June 23rd, for Mr A. F. Davidson's sales there was a good attendance ot the public. I had good competition for the dairy herd, choice cows selling .at from £ll 10s to £ls, good cows £8 10s to £ll, aged or late calvers £5 5a to £7 ss, making ah average for the 55 cows of £9 10s, gelding eight year old brought £27 10s, bay mare £24. milk waggon £3O, disc harrows £4 15s, hay rake £4 15s, plough £4 Is, jack £3 7s 6d, scoop 355, gig £22 10s. On June 2fith I held a very successful sale on account of Mr John Reeve, Egmont Village, probably the best sale held in this district. There was an excellent attendance of the public and the dairy herd being well-known and in fine condition sold under brisk competition. A few very choice two year heifers were offered these selling very readily, horses, implements, and furniture sold at satisfactory prices. Choice dairy cows brought from £l2 5s to £ls, best cows close to protfi £9 to £ll 10s, backward cows £7 10s to £8 ss, "averaging £lO 5s for the herd, three-quarter cows £4 to £4 15s, coloured weaner heifers £2 lis, springing hefers £8 5s to £9 15s, two year Jersey bull £5 ss, store cows £3 153 to £4 7s 6d, store pigs 20s, an sundries at current market values.
