MR ROOSEVELT'S TRIBUTE,

Ex-President Roosevelt entertained the Peace delegates. He eulogised the great part Australia played in advanced political experiments for the benefit of the world's democracies. He proposed the toast of "The British Empire," and declared America must never break the promise to arbitrate with England on such questions as the Panama Canal.
