RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
AN IMPROVED SERVICE
Quite a number of important alterations in the railway timetable are to come into operation in November. The long-promised double service between Auckland and Wellington is to start on the first of November, and will be continued until March ;'>lst. This train will leave Auckland Jive minutes before noon Sundays excepted—and will arrive a Wellington at 7 o'clock next morning. It will slop only at Mercer and Frankton before reaching Te Kuiti at about 5 p.m. This train will carry sleeping cars to Wellington and a dining car as far as Raurimu. The train leaving Wyllington at 9.10 p.m. will carry a dining car from Raurimu and will reach Te Kuiti about 11 a.m., arriving at Auckland at ■1.12 p.m. It should be noted that those day expresses do not stop at Te Avvamutu. In order to work in with the new service the present morning train which leaves Taumarunui at 8.10 a.m. and arrives at Auckland at 5 p.m. is to leave Taumarunui at 7.30 a.m., Te Kuiti 10.10 a.m., instead of 10.50 and connect with tho Rotorua express at Frankton as at present.
The present 7 a.m. goods train- - with car attached Frankton to Ohakune, will leave To Kuiti at 11.40 a.m. instead of at 11.1? a.m.
The present 3 p.m. train, Frankton to Te Kuiti on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and the 3.45 p.m. train, Frankton to Te Kuiti, on Thursdays will not run. In lieu thereof a train will leave Frankton for Te Kuiti daily—Sundays excepted—at 4.5 p.m. The present, S.lO a.m. train, Taumarunui to Frankton, connecting with Experss Train to Auckland and Rotorua, will leave Taumarunui at 7.30 a.m., Ongarue 5.15 a.m., Mangapehi 9.15 a.m., Te Kuiti .10.10 a.m., Otorohanga 10.45 a.m., Te Awamutu 11.35 a.m., Ohaupo 12.0 noon.
A goods train with second class catattached, will leave Te Kuiti for Frankton daily—Sundays excepted at 3.5 p.m. The present 11.15 a.m. goods train, with car attached, Ohakune to Frankton, will leave Ohakune at 10.40 a.m., Horopito 11.15 a.m., Raurimu 1.5 p.m., Taumarunui 5 p.m.. Te Kuiti 9.50 p.m.
