Own Correspondent,

The settlers met at the school on September 28th tj hear the report of the deputation which waited on the County Council at the last monthly meeting, to obtain information regarding the metalling contract. The members of the deputation having explained the position, the settlers decided to leave ihe matter in the hands of the chairman, to take any further steps he deemed necessary. A ''general discussion on district matters followed, and it was con sidered by some that the beat interests of the settlers would be served by forming themselves into an organised body, and it was decided to hold a , meeting on Saturday, October 26th, at 1.30 p.m. to go further into the matter.
