TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.

The usual mee<ing of the Te Kuiti Debating Society will take place on Thursday evening, when the Labour Government will be in charge of the Treasury benches. The policy speech of the new Cabinet is awaited with interest, and some highly radical proposals are foreshadowed. The of the Opposition will be in the capable hands of the lata Prime Minister, Mr H. A,.Elli3on, and the opinion is widely held that it will not be long before the exPremier again occupies the position of power. However, there is no certainty that Mr Ellison would again accept the leadership or a Government he being inclined to favour an elective executive. When he has brought about the defeat of the Labour Government it is understood Mr Ellison will propose adopting the elective executive.

It is unofficially announced that the following will comprise, the new Ministry:—■ Prime Minister, Labour and Railways, C. F. Turner; Lands and Customs, F.J. Langston; Public Works and Mines, H. Rothery; Finance, Infernal Affairs and Marines, J. B. Young; Postmaster-General, H. G. Vause; Education J. E. Hillary; Attorney-General, G. Arrowsirnth; Defence and Agriculture, A. Gates; Native Affairs, L. Smith; Hospitals and Charitable Aid, M. Rowe. A definite announcement will be made' in connection with the position of High Commissioner.
