The Wanganui "Chronicle," published last Wednesday a seven-column letter from the Federal Storage Battery Car Company of New York, dealing with criticisms by certain colonial engineers on the Edison storage battery. The reply' is exhaustive and convincing. The company offers to put in the new system of running electric, cars at Wanganui without wires, overhead or underground, at a saving of one third of the present cost of an electric car service. The cars are charged up to run from 40 to 72 miles without re-charging and if re-charged an hour a day, from SO to 144 miles.
