Honikiwi.

It is with extreme regret that I report the death of the young son of Mr John Williamson, of Honikiwi. The little (ad was only six years of age, and was the first white child born in Honikiwi. An inquest was held by Mr Teasdale, the coroner, and a verdict returned in accordance with the doctor's evidence, it being added that the parents had done all that was possible for the child. The funeral service drew a large number of settlers, who came to pay a last tribute of respect to the deceased. The Rev. Wayne, in his sermon, spoke of the training of the young and the uncertainty of lice. Much sympathy is being felt throughout the district for Mr and Mrs Williamson in their sad bereavement.
